However, as a result of agriculture and cattle farming, vegetation has undergone marked alterations. At present, the transitional landscape of woodland and pampean native grassland (Stipa spp.) persists in small remnants (patches) among crop-fields"

Sampling comments: "24 crop-field borders were selected from satellite images... Small mammal trapping in borders was conducted in November 2005 (spring), March 2006 (summer) and May 2006 (autumn)... A total of 20 traps were placed in each border. Sherman live-traps and snap- traps were alternated, located at 4-m intervals. All traps were baited with a mixture of peanut butter and cow fat and were checked every morning during two consecutive weeks (eight nights)"
